otherwise, life has been pretty normal.. more social perhaps but that's because we're on SPRING BREAK WOOOOOOT. our last day of class was thursday and we don't go back until april.
so friday afternoon all the foreign students got together and had a massive potluck since a lot of the kids are leaving to go back to their own countries and we wont have much of a chance to see each other.

after the school party, some of us reconvened to introduce brendan's friend visiting from ireland to karaoke. the next day i had broken glass in my purse.

saturday was spent sitting around, recieving amazing packages from bethany AND kenny (thaaaaaanks!) and then i headed over to college residence for a small party with some of the older kids who are leaving. played kings and had a good time hanging out, though it sucks i'm just starting to get to know a lot of these kids when they're leaving in a couple weeks.
kumiko, yukioh, mae, pippa, aki and i. both pippa and yukioh are leaving soon (pippa is an aussie and yukioh is swiss)
yesterday (sunday) i met another man that i'm going to be conversation partners with.. he's 56 and teaches english at a highschool in osaka and he's fluent in english, so basically i just got free lunch, twenty bucks, and sat there for an hour talking about woody allen films. not a bad gig.. i meet him once every weekend for lunch at this really cute cafe downtown.. when we walked up to the third floor to sit down, the only two other people there were a girl and a MAIKO. it's so weird here to just see maiko and geisha walking around, eating lunch next to me at some random cafe. and what really amused me is that usually when i see a maiko or geikko, i gawk at them.. but when i walked up there and started speaking english to masa (the man i'm tutoring) the maiko and her friend were staring at ME. i just got two books on geisha so i'm continuing my obsession. thursday night i'm meeting kuriharo-san to go to the setsubon festival and i meet masa again on saturday. then on the 7th i'm off to thailand and cambodia!
HAVE FUN AT SCHOOL LOSERS
