do they light bundles of trees and precariously balanced bales of hay often over there? freaking crazy.
Phlash and I had some awesome monkey adventures over the break, too. though we didn't get to feed them, nor were there any near death experiences involving them. However, I did get to feed giraffes! probably the most awesome thing I've gotten to do all year.
did you do your snake impression for the giraffes? i bet they would've loved that.
and this is the third fire festival i've been aware of. the first featured japanese men in loin clothes toting torches, the second had monks DELIBERATELY throwing flaming ashes on onlookers to "purify" them. silly, silly japan. but heck, after all that incense and fire and chanting, i'm really REALLY pure. and boy don't it feel good.
i'm glad my snake impression is so well appreciated. but no, they'd have probably laughed at my puny tongue. there's were as long as my arm. phlash actually freaked out at their tongues and dropped her food the first time she tried to feed one.
i love the bag susannah brought back. silly japan indeed.
