You Can Sail the Seven Seas.....

My goal for my entire life, and even more intensely in recent months, has always been to find a career that both contributes to the betterment of our society as a whole, as well as provides well for the family I hope to have. I believe I have found that path ( Read more... )

This is a really big step, Kansas. I applaud your conviction and dedication, and especially your desire to make a difference is the world around us. I never would have guessed or predicted that military service would ever be in the cards for you, but as I think about it, the Navy will benefit greatly your addition to it's ranks, and you too will benefit from your service.
You've made a decision that few can make in this day and age, and for that I wish you Good Luck and Godspeed.

Wow... I know that was a big step... I hope I was at least a bit of a comforting voice to Sara... all in all... I'm proud of you. Really, I mean that.

I would rather be able to say "I'm friends with one and married to another of the military's finest!" than to say I'd met every star in hollywood.

I know it's a long trip, but I really hope you can make it back for my wedding, I know Sara would love for you to be there with her and I really want you and Will to meet each other :)

You were very helpful. You actually just got a shoutout in my post.

And, sorry about calling. He had already signed by the time I got your message. I love you J-R. And just think of us and our men in uniform...hot, no?

I'm really trying to be there, but I have major bills to pay this summer and I have a vacation with my dad the week after. But, if at all possible, I'm there.

So, as I understand it, you're not really doing anything (except maybe getting into better shape) until February. And then you'll be in Illinois for 9 weeks for training. And then you'll be in South Carlina for 15 to 18 months after that. So you'll still be in the States at least until the end of the year 2010. Yay for that!!

And after that, an 80% chance I'll stay in country after my first assignment.

So, I haven't been on livejournal in a long time. Congrats on signing with the Navy! You will do fabulous things for this country! Lots of people in my family were in the Navy, including my Dad. He was in for about two years I think. Great Lakes, IL is not that far from me, so I could like come visit you, which is exciting!
