Rotary Park in Blue Springs has some beautiful playground equipment but in additon to that, they also have a pond with fountains and a gazebo so there's a wide range of shots for you to choose from. It is off of 7 highway, about 1/2 mile south of I-70 behind Zarda's barbeque.
Antioch park in Merriam is lovely - they have a nice little pond kinda thing - and the playground is really neat - they have the regular playground equipment and also a little miniature old-west kinda town that kids can run through. Lots of trees - very green and pretty.
Loose Park south of the Plaza would be good, they have a rose garden, pond, and playground, for good variety.
Macken Park in North Kansas City has big, huge! sycamore trees all around the playground, very pretty in the fall.
I also second the recommendations of Penguin Park and Antioch Park.
Or, since it is pumpkin patch season, you could see if local pumpkin patches will let you do professional photography on their grounds. Carolyn's Country Cousins has fun things for kids to play on, like tire swings cut to look like horses, and they have a little train.
