Why is it okay to have an abortion but not okay to cut? One takes the life of a child, whereas the other only inflicts damage upon oneself. How is it that society sees the one as being okay and the other as being a travesty ( Read more... )

It depends upon the opinion of the person. Some think neither is okay. Some think both are fine. And some think one is fine and the other isn't.It depends on who you ask, I guess.

Personally, I don't think either is right.

It sounds like you're trying to justify cutting by comparing it to abortion. If that is your argument, then it could very well be turned against you.

If you insist on justifying such a thing in such a way as you have written there, then you've nulled your chances of arguing against abortion completely.

I really don't see how you can call yourself a Christian when you do such things when I hope you yourself know that cutting is wrong.

I don't claim perfection in the least bit, but I do know a few things about Christian behavior. What kind of example do you think you're setting for anyone you've ever witnessed to?

I'm sure you've heard that your body is a temple, right? How much more will you desecrate it?

I hate having to use these cheesy little sermon/lecture takes, but we both know that you won't stop for my sake.

That's all I'll say.
