So here I am, stuck at home for a short while with my car inoperable at the moment. During my drive home from my weekend activities yesterday, the belt on the alternator went. This is also the belt that runs the water pump on my car, so I had to pull over really quick without knowing what the problem was as the water temp guage suddenly went from 1

sorry about your car problems, dude. I know they can get you down. Hang in there. That belt replacement sounds almost as bad as what I went through re-inking my printer inkjet cartridge with a "universal" kit. Gawd. After I got through, everything worked (as long as the scotch tape holds), but you can tell by the mess we had a real adventure.
