Ok so ends my 10+ years of journey in the Classical music realm. Ok I wouldn't really say "end", seeing as I still hope to pick up interesting and nice classical pieces in the future (Bach's 2 and 3 part inventions rank high on the list now. All the best. And don't worry I was equally irritated by my inability to play a lot of songs. About that materialistic thing, well I guess we all have dreams of living comfortable lives, but I tend to think that middle class is best, like.. Live comfortably in a quiet neighborhood with a chill job, ya know? Probably gets pretty confusing and stressful way up there

I stopped in J1 after getting 101 or something for Grade 7... till date my parents still grumble that I didn't "complete" Grade 8, but it doesn't actually matter. These days I am playing the piano *much* more than I was when I was formally learning...

Yea! My parents also keep harping about how Grade 8 is like a milestone, blah blah. But to me it just doesnt hold any meaning or significance.

Some days, I see that "a simple life can be happy as well" as a way to console ourselves for not being able to make it big (i.e. a kind of sour grapes). I mean, even if you're rich you can still have that simple life so might as well make it into the position where you can choose.

But honestly, work on uni/scholarships first...
