Best, you've got to be the best. (My Muse concert recap)

MYOOOOOZ!!!!!!

THIS IS TOTES MY GLITTERATI FONT, BTW :D

HAS IT REALLY BEEN A WEEK SINCE I'VE SEEN THE ROCK GODS KNOWN AS MUSE???!? *sadface* Sorry it's taken me awhile to post this!

So here's a rundown of my Muse show!day.

-I started out the day getting ready and heading out to my local gas station to fuel up. While there, I picked up three shot glasses in hopes of being able to give it to the boys. I also wrote up a little note and packaged it all up in a little bag.

-Lunch time! I stopped at Zupa's and had the Tomato Basil with Orzo Pasta

and the Wild Mushroom Bisque

*foodgasm*

-Alright, then it was time to head to the venue. Having never been there before, it was pretty easy to find, so that was nice. I got there an hour before doors opened, but not before heading over to a nearby Ruby Tuesday to use their atm, since I didn't have enough cash for parking at The E Center.

-It wasn't all that exciting waiting in line. I just spent the time listening to Muse on my mp3 player. Naturally. The kids behind me were kinda loud and annoying, but idk, maybe I'm just an old fart. Heh.

-DOORS OPEN! I had no problem bringing in BOTH of my cameras, which I was a little worried about, so that was nice. There was a merch booth right inside of the doors, so I bolted straight to there. I'm pretty sure I have a tour shirt for every major concert I've been to, and this was no exception. I ended up going with this one:

OMG IT IS SO COMFY LOVE LOVE LOVE. Fact: I'm wearing it right now. :D

-Time to find my seats. Here they are!

OMG THE TOWERS ARE RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE!!! *SQUEE!!!!!* TBH, the stage seemed a little smaller than what I was expecting. IDK IDK.

-By that time, I checked to see where my ontd_startrek GQMFs, urbancate and karmadownurgun were. They were on their way in, so I stopped and got some $3 water (gag) and headed over to the other side of the venue to where their seats were. We hooked up and squeed for a bit. (Actually, I think I provided most of the squeeing. They just looked on at my goofy grin in amusement.) urbancate showed off her CFine fug!hat. Very rad, bb!

-By that time, Silversun Pickups took the stage, so I scurried over back to my side of the venue and took my seat. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by their set. I went in thinking I would be bored for the most part, considering I only know all of three songs by them. But dang! They rocked! The front man was very amusing, saying things like we want to keep our minds intact, then we should all leave. But if we don't mind having them BLOWN, then we should stay and let Muse do just that. LOL. After the first couple of songs, he said something along the lines of "Salt Lake...Ah, I remember you guys! We've only played here one other time, at the Saltair, and it was insane! All of our friends who have toured through here have said that you guys are f****ing crazy, and they were right!" Finally, he had each side of the arena start flashing their cameras all at once. It was like we had a "flash off." He explained that we were their light show, since they're poor and can't afford a set like Muse's. *motions to the towers behind him*

Here, have some really crappy pics/videos I took during their set.

-Silversun Pickups finished around 8:00 and then it was time to patiently wait for MYOOOZ. BRB FREAKING OUT MUCH? I pretty much took this time to spread my excitement to Twitter. And at the same time, Muse updated their Twitter with a Twitpic of Dom and the Snuggie. LOL. I also admired the guys in the harnesses re-setting the lights. Eep! Scary stuff! It didn't take as long to set up for Muse as I thought it. I was expecting them to hit the stage around 8:45-9:00 ish, but around 8:30, the lights turned off, and the "We are the Universe" intro started...So cool! And then the men began to fall and *BAM* curtains drop!!!

Please allow my pictures and videos to do the talking, because anything I have to say would not give the next hour and a half any justice. GUH.

WARNING: My voice can be heard on most of these videos. I apologize for any ear bleeding in advance. (I WAS REALLY REALLY INTO IT, OK?! >.< )

I totes did the Uprising dance with x5649 at my show.

MOTP! *cue me exploding* I was so so happy they played it. It's easily in my top 5 Muse songs. And that outro? *drool* Also, I love Dom at the end.

MWAH+KoC! Chris, you are so dreamy with that harmonica. Werk it! And Matt? Well, you never fail to crack me up. Side note: Chris totally smoked at least twice on stage, one of the times being before Undisclosed Desires. I loled.

So there you have it! I pretty much left the arena in a daze. And what awaited me as I left? Why, SNOW, no less. Grr. Normally, I LOVE any kind of precipitation, but I wanted none of that. since I was planning on waiting for the band so I could hand off my gift for them. Either way, I headed off to my car, which thank goodness I dished out the $10 for venue parking. I grabbed the gift bag and made my way over to where I had seen all of the semis. On my trek over, (seriously, I felt like I was on Delta Vega, it was snowing right into my face, my jeans were getting soaked and I had my hoodie zipped up tight as much as possible, but it didn't feel like it was going much) x5649 called me, and we had epic squee!times, which may or may not have included zeta!talk...heeheehee. We talked for about 45 minutes, which I am sooo thankful for, because I don't think I could have stood out there as long as i did if it wasn't for her. <3 During that time, some venue employees had said that Muse had already left to head to the next show. But I was determined to stay longer to make sure he wasn't bluffing. I had heard from other reports that the crew had been quite friendly to the fans who had waited for the band, but I think the snow in SLC caused them to be a bit uptight and just really focused on their jobs. Long story short, I waited for another 30 minutes before my body could take the snow no longer, so the gift and I left a bit defeated. =/ But it's ok! I can understand why they were in such a hurry. The next stop was Denver, which they ended up having to cancel because they got stuck in the snow about 150 miles away from the venue. Sad day! I still feel really bad about that. I'm glad I was able to see them when I did, because I have no idea if I would be able to in the fall. (Hurry up and release those dates, boys!)

I guess that's it, then? Sorry this turned out to be crazy long!
