That's really great news!

Well, OK, Insurance being suckholes is not really great news. But the doctor and the treatment options, etx, is really great news!

Yeah. I think it was worth the exam fee just to leave with the feeling that my TMJ problems had been taken seriously for a change.

My sister had a very similar experience with her chronic fatigue/heart muscle problems. She basically got blown off a ton of doctors who claimed it was psychological until she found one that actually paid attention to what she was saying and was able to go "No, there's a real problem here."

Sorry to hear about the sucky insurance! Then again, my HMO doesn't really cover anything dental-related at all, and the university's optional dental plans are pretty crummy as well, so I don't know if I would fare any better. Also, very glad to hear you are not in chronic pain! That would suck way too much!
