Knitting Class, etc.

To keep myself sane this fall, I joined a knitting cass in Montpelier.  It gets me ot of the house once a week, is an excuse to drive all the way to Montpelier, a city I love, and forces me to interact with other people.  My first class was this past Wednesday; I had cramps, was recovering from a cold, and had very little voice, but I went anyway ( Read more... )

I've been knitting too! How fun! But I'm sorry your group is not all you'd hoped. Groups like that can be weird.

Do you think they would notice if one of the guinea fowl just... disappeared?

Well, we don't know how to kill and dress birds, so we'd have to call a pro, and they won't come to your house for less than 8 or 10 birds. It's okay, though. We were sort of hoping that we could give them as gifts - slaughtering/dressing costs $4 a bird, and guinea fowls go for $10-12 a pound, so it would have been a neat gift. Now I just figure I'll knit a lot of presents. :)

oh, and I'm curious - do they buy local meat to cook at home?

They only buy a Thanksgiving turkey, and yes, that is local. Otherwise, they don't eat meat at home.

I pointed out the contradiction to Ben, and after thinking about it, he's become a vegetarian (almost). I can respect a consistent, reasoned position.
