Advent and the cult of motherhood

I've always wanted to reclaim/reinstate the new moon festivals.
You've heard "girls in trouble" , yes? they're awesome http://www.myspace.com/girlsintroublemusic

I'm truly childfree - I don't know that i have anything to add to the advent conversation, other than I don't really pay advent / nativity much mind at all - so that may support your idea that it's really "not for me" as a festival.

pascha can be about women bringing a new idea and worldview to the community of stuck and mourning men.

the part of advent i most like is the visitation of mary & elizabeth, because sometimes i don't care that they're bonding over spawning, and just like that they're women, sharing a woman thing, without men involved (of course, i conveniently ignore the crucial plot fetuses, but whatever)

and i'm sad that you didn't get to choose not having children completely voluntarily. i want to live in a world where that doesn't ever happen, where the option of childbearing may or may not be given by god, but certainly is never removed by a human.
