This post turned into a coding nightmare. That's what I get for copying and pasting links into the rich text editor ( Read more... )

Whispers! I still love that ficlet the way a kid loves candy. :-)

And I'm glad you are still here reading. *hugs* Happy New Year!

I doubt I ever would have written "Whispers" had you not "trick-or-treated" at my LJ home, so thank you! :)

Happy New Year!

Between you and lls-mutant and me going back to original fic, I almost wonder if we should open a comm to talk about original fic issues. Don't know if I'd have much to contribute what with writing in another language, but it would be nice to have something to talk about again. (I really like this idea. Now I'm wondering if, at least, I should do some sort of monthly original fic discussion post on my LJ or something...)

Story with the single sexiest moment:

Hmm. This is tough, because even though I wrote more sex scenes than in years past, I tend to go more for funny or sweet or angsty than sexy.

You know, I think that's usually the best way of making a scene sexy. Because you don't interrupt the story for the sexiness, you know? I did the same meme and I chose a kissing scene that, like, contributes a dozen different things to the story on top of the kissing. That's why I like it so much. It tends to be why I find scenes in other people's stories sexy, too.

I would be SO for this idea. There were a couple of other people saying they wanted to write more original stuff, too. Maybe we should?

Hmm....

Writing comm or writing meme on a private LJ?

Maybe a writing comm for just us and people we know would be good. So we could discuss stuff we want to publish without worrying who might read it?

The writing comms I know don't really do it for me, not for original fic, because they're all about fanfic and it's just too different.

This is an awesome idea, and I am definitely on board. I think my favorite thing about fandom-writing is that writing original work can be a lonely process by comparison.

I also like the idea of keeping it private/limited membership--not in a snobby way, but like you said, it would be a lot more comfortable talking about possibly publishable work in that kind of environment.

It's always interesting to see what people love most about their own writing. I so loved the car scenes in the Art of War Story. They seriously had me laughing out loud :)

Glad you enjoyed it. :) I really have to finish that fic sometime in the near future.
