The 100 is actually pretty awesome--who would've guessed?

I can’t believe I’m recommending a CW show, but if you didn’t watch The 100 this year, I highly recommend you catch up on Netflix or your other TV-viewing method of choice. It’s a science fiction series that starts out shaky but gets into some really interesting, tough questions about the lengths to which characters go to survive ( Read more... )

A show I need to watch. Is the Pilot campy bad enough to work with sufficient quantities of wine to go with the whine? Or is it truly so awful bad that no quantity of wine + whine = watchable?

Woefully late responding--while parts of it might be OK with enough alcohol, it's not campy-bad enough to be fun. I'd say just start at Ep. 2 and save yourself some pain.

I'm glad you watched and enjoyed it! I feel pretty much the same as everything you said. It has flaws and isn't my favorite show ever by any stretch, but the flaws are more than made up for by the deft ways they weave together their influences (I see a lot of Game of Thrones and Lost as well as BSG) and by the boldness of the storytelling. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to give it a try.

Really late response--but yes, it's not Shakespeare, but I'm actually looking forward to Season 3, if for nothing but to see what "oh no, they wouldn't do that" things the writers will do.

Is this, by chance, the reveal in second season as to why Mount Weather residents can't live on the surface? McKay from SGA would call this Voodoo that doesn't even fit with the rest of medical voodoo!

Awesome post. Feel free to spoil me! (I've seen all the episodes and... AJ still lives!)

Really late response--but yes, that's exactly what I was thinking of. :) Daring that they actually went there and killed everybody, but yeah, science is not this show's strong suit... ;)
