I'm going on radio silence until I get my damn To-Do List emptied (it's been a looong week), but I wanted to drop in quickly before then and give special congrats to Firefly alum Christina Hendrix, BSG's Michelle Forbes and Mary McDonnell (and yep, I'm still bitter that the awards failed to notice their awesomeness when they were on my show, dammit ( Read more... )

Yeah, I don't watch The Closer, but I can't imagine a better Emmy character than Roslin. Just...::shrug and sigh::. These voters and their sci-fi ghetto-ing...

Thanks!

Michelle Forbes received an Emmy nomination for the Killing? That would be awesome because she so deserved it. She's too good for that show.

Yay, for the others too! It will be an interesting awards show!

She did, indeed! And funnily enough, even she talked about how Mary McDonnell should've gotten an Emmy for BSG when she did an interview with the LA Times. I liked her immensely already, but yay.

It still baffles me that Mary McDonell never got an acting nomination for Roslin. There was a lot of strong acting in that series and deserving actors (really? Michael Hogan never got nominated for supporting?), but MM was just... I mean, they like her, she's an amazing actress, she almost always had meaty stuff to do, and her role was complex. How can you not nominate that????

I'm psyched Dot got nominated out of all of them. She won't win- she'll have to pry that Emmy from Gwenyth's cold dead hands- but I wish she would.

I'll be interested to see what CC's chances are. The thing that I think actually gives him a bit of an edge was that four of the five other nominees are from the same show, so vote splitting? I don't know. I don't know enough about this stuff.

But seriously. President Roslin should put some Emmy voter asses out the airlocks :)

Good luck on studying!

IKR? It's like, if there was ever a role and actress that was a perfect fit for breaking out of the sci-fi ghetto, it was Roslin and Mary McDonnell. ::shrugs::

I don't know how the whole vote-splitting thing works, either, but that's a possibility. I did see that CC submitted "Grilled Cheezus" as his episode, so it seems like his strategy is not to try to out-funny the "Modern Family" guys but to offer up something completely different. It might work.

Thanks!
