The Fenix: RIP (again)

Jul 03, 2006 08:47

So apparently the Fenix is, once again, no more. From what I've read, the owner is trying to find a new, smaller locale to re-open it asap, but the nicely decorated location on S. Washington is no more. At least I got to see one of the last shows there, FLA, and it was killer.

Are you just hearing this now? I think I heard 2 months ago with the final Moonday even. It's a shame, right? Such a cool location? Hopefully someone with the dough to run the place will scoop it up and keep it a nightclub.

Yeah, I only heard about it via an aside in a Seattle Weekly article about Pioneer Square. I'm sooooo out of it, it's not even funny. It just seems like such a shame for all the work they put into fixing the place up as a club to have to start over somewhere else. Ah well, that's the Seattle music scene for ya - crazy and fickle.

I agree, it's a shame to start over. It was really so cool in there. :/
