Well, there's family, get-togethers, friends, rest, food, sharing, winter, snow, cold, gifts, etc etc.
And technically, Jesus's b-day isn't on December 25th, but more around January 7th or so. It became the 25th because a 4th century Pope said it should be so it would make conversion of some pagans easier. =\
