New Series from Cam and I :)

Awhile back, astrangerfate and I decided to cowrite a new series about our lovely Winchester boys :) It is set pre-series, when Sam is 10 and Dean is 14. YES for series though! And the concept behind it is just great, though the reasons behind it were heartbreaking. I knew from the moment Dean winced at his first swat that something was going on and the fact he protected Sam. Yes he always does but there was a different urgency to it y'know :-)
And John knowing both his sons as to judge their characters and how to handle the situation, though I pity them writing out lines. Really they were defending themselves!! BUT I do see John's point of view that being trained as they are, they could cause damage and potential problems and heightened interest from authorities.
Okay (un)happily off back to work now, I look forward to more girls. Great start :)

I'm glad you like the concept of the series! I know the whole paddling thing was a little traumatic, but we were searching for a way to make the rest of the series plausible, and that just seemed to fit.
The lines thing actually took awhile to come up with. We did think about having him spank them in a few days, but decided that was just too mean :) We figured lines was just enough punishment from John that the boys knew he wasn't happy with them fighting.

Personally I thought 500 lines pretty damn excessive, given the circumstances.
And there might be more details on Dean resisting his paddling and protecting his brother sometime in the future.
I really LOVED your characterisation of Dean in this, especially his reaction to John, wanting to protect Sam, and not wanting to anger his father further at the same time; his attitude to getting smacked in school, everything. I thought he was very well done.
(Also, and this is just an aside on the John/Jim convo - AFAIK, the only paddling state that has laws where schools must abide by parental requests not to spank is Ohio. In no other state does it have a legal bearing, even where, in practice, it is respected.)

"homeschool" was mainly an excuse for lots of spankings in my twisted daydreams, lol. Looking forward to it.

Homeschool is probably incredibly unrealistic, but we basically want this series to be about the three Winchesters, off by themselves. There will be one or two appearances from Bobby and Jim, but we wanted to focus on the relationships between John, Dean, and Sam. We'll try and update soon :) Thanks for reading!
