I was reviewing the school report cards for Peoria and I realized that in over half of our schools, 90% or more of the children in attendance live in low income families. In the entire district 63% of the families are low income ( Read more... )

It helps make things easier to stomach if you think about how all of this information is based on standardized tests, and if you were like me, I knew that the tests didn't mean anything towards my grade, and I really didn't put mutch into them. Sure I wasn't in the top 10 of my class, but i was in the top 30, and I'm not a total idiot. Infact, my freshman year i just drew pictures in the dots, i made the Nine inch nails logo and various other things, sure I spent the next day in solitary fixing it, but i still just filled in random dots.

but yeah, that was Canton. Peoria schools are icky. I am holding on to the hope that they will be fixed by the time Eric is ready for school. If not, it looks like i'll be moving.

Yeah, that is pretty sad. Brians mom was telling me that the heights high school dropout rate is higher then it has ever been, i can not remember what is it but it was pretty sad.
