Completely Discombobulated

I had intended to post on my feelings of closure of one part of my life and beginnings of another, but then everything this week went into a downward spiral. The center did not hold ( Read more... )

Gaaaaaaaaah!

Oh, poor little red car! They stole the wheels?

No wise suggestions about insurance, just hugs and sympathy. I hope that things get better, and that this weekend is a restful and stress-free one. I completely understand the feeling of zen-love for a place, and I hope that you can regain that.

Hang in there...

Gah! That's awful! I don't have much advice to offer here, as I don't know what people usually do when this sort of thing happens. Insurance seems reasonable, but if it's going to raise your premium or set you back with just the deductible, it may not be worth it.

I'm so glad that Boston's starting to feel like home. Even with its bumps and warts (and cinderblocks), it has a lot of spirit and character. I hope it continues to grow on you!

It's well over my deductivle, and the nice guy from my insurance company told me that it's unlikely to raise my premium because I'm "not at fault." And realistically, it's probably already factored into my premium given my location (apparently there was a rash of this sort of theft last year in this neighborhood) and the apparent attractiveness of my car.

As I said, it makes it more attractive to sell my car, not leave Boston!

Eeek! I've never owned a car, so I don't have any suggestions, unfortunately.

I'm glad that Boston is growing on you, despite the recent experience with crime. Instead of moving downtown, why not just closer to the T but still in Brighton? There are a lot of really nice buildings and neighborhoods near the reservoir. I know a good real estate agent for the area, too.

I may take you up on that as I get closer to the end of my lease. Mostly I just realize there are some cool places in Boston where I could live more easily without a car and that I may not drive enough to justify the risk and expense of owning one!

That is *nuts*. I hope the cops find the culprit!

I also find Copley Square inexplicably discombobulating. I always get turned around when I get off the subway there.
