Hmm.. reading your post makes me think that your irrational attachment to Robot Dog isn't so irrational after all. I think that attachment is directly related to what you'd feel in a relationship. In other words, it is acting as a substitute for a loving relationship.

It's definitely an extension of how I behave in relationships. I've noticed I invest more than I should in an internal story of the relationship, and form stronger/deeper attachments based on these stories (which may or may not have roots in reality).

At least in recognizing this behavior, I can realize it and see through the illusions I'm creating.
