Irrational attachments - Fallout2's Robot Dog.

A while back I started playing Fallout 2 again, and decided to use meta game knowledge to go to an area near the end of the game (the Navarro military base) and equip weapons and armor meant for use at the end of the game. Hmm.. reading your post makes me think that your irrational attachment to Robot Dog isn't so irrational after all. I think that attachment is directly related to what you'd feel in a relationship. In other words, it is acting as a substitute for a loving relationship.

Thoughts?

It's definitely an extension of how I behave in relationships. I've noticed I invest more than I should in an internal story of the relationship, and form stronger/deeper attachments based on these stories (which may or may not have roots in reality).

At least in recognizing this behavior, I can realize it and see through the illusions I'm creating.
