“He’s a lucky bastard,” Adams fumed, pacing the kitchen, clearly unable to leave a day of House’s needling back at the hospital.
“He’s not lucky,” Park pointed out calmly. “He just happens to be a genius.”
Adams narrowed her eyes.
“And what the hell was the deal with asking the Crocodile Hunter out for drinks? I thought our so-called cat fight was enough to throw House off the trail.”
Park sighed.
“A little insurance couldn’t hurt, but I don’t think it’s going to help either. He’s going to find out.”
Adams finally relaxed enough to smile.
“Not if we’re lucky.”
