A/N: Yes... It was after episode 8 when I just told to syunikiss1990: "OMG I will ship them!!". And here I go, writing a fluffy, cuticle PG... If you watch the drama you know which scene I took out and changed a bit ;)
Captain of the Joutoku Baseball team was sitting alone in the dark room where they usually had the meetings about their tactics with the coach. Ebato Mitsuteru practically didn't think about anything, trying to focus on the game and how he could improve his own play. He slowly started to unbutton his uniform, wanting to change his clothes and go home to get some sleep before the game but when he reached the last button, he heard somebody entering the room.
"Yo..." Okadome Kei's low voice sounded and the captain couldn't help but shiver a bit. He was still a bit afraid of the latter, remembering the times when he was bullied by him in junior high school. Of course now everything was different, they were in one team and the taller boy didn't even try to hurt Ebato in any way but the old fear stayed, buried somewhere deep. Mitsuteru just nodded and moved an inch away from the other one, staying silent and hoping that soon he will be left alone again.
"Listen... Before the game starts, I want to explain few things... I really didn't have any intentions to bully you back then, but if you felt like it, then I think we can't call it in any other way, right?" Kei smiled awkwardly and sat on the other end of the bench, making sure he won't come too close to the latter. Okadome knew very well how he makes the other one feel and he didn't want to make it even worse. In fact, he wanted Ebato to change his mind about him. "That's why I want to apologize."
"I-it's fine, you don't have to..." The captain smiled weakly and looked down, wondering why the blood rushed to his cheeks, making him blush. For a while neither of them said a word, but when the silence became awkward the taller one took a deep breath and turned his gaze on Mitsuteru.
"I feel ashamed. You must hate me..." Kei bit his lower lip and deep inside he hoped he will hear the words he wanted to hear long time ago...
"I don't... I... I just don't know how to act when you're close. I..." The shorter boy couldn't find the right words to express his feelings. It was true that at the beginning he had a crush on the latter, but when he started to make fun of him or hurt him, this feeling faded. Even though he still thought Okadome is handsome...
"Then what's the difference?!" Kei hit the bench with his fist but when he saw that Ebato jumped on his feet and moved in the furthest corner of the room, he felt even guiltier than before. "I am sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I... I just don't want you to hate me." The last part of the sentence was whispered but the captain of the team heard it anyway. The shorter boy didn't know how to react on this, fear still crawling to his throat, so he just whispered, hoping it will reach the latter.
"I don't hate you..." Why was he so afraid? Ebato knew very well that the other one won't do anything. And even if Kei wanted to, the other members of the baseball club will stand on the captain's side but that didn't help Mitsuteru to get rid of the fear which was getting stronger with each passing second. Using the last bit of calmness he had, Mitsuteru took three steps towards the exit, mumbled something incoherently and wanted to leave, but the other one grabbed his wrist and pulled closer.
"Please, don't go... I... I didn't tell you everything yet..."
"There's no need..." Ebato smiled weakly, suddenly feeling the fear crawling back to its burrow to give place something he forgot it existed. Okadome's touch burned his skin, but it wasn't unpleasant at all, quite opposite. The heat reached the captain's cheeks and he looked down to hide the blush that bloomed on his face.
"No captain... I... I have to say it now or else I won't be able to focus on the game. Besides I think it lasts for way too long... I am bad in expressing feelings and... The bullying was my twisted and sick way of showing that I have a crush on you... I didn't know how to show it and then the others started to make fun of you... I was an idiot. And still am because I think I still have feelings for you..."
"O-okadome..." Ebato gasped and opened his eyes wide, surprised. Did he hear that right? Was it a dream? Did Kei just say he has a crush on him?! The shorter boy didn't have any more time to analyze what had just happened, because the latter pulled him closer and joined their lips together in a clumsy kiss. At first Mitsuteru opposed but he gave in to the feeling after first shock. The butterflies he had in his stomach started to flutter and a shy smile appeared on his face. The taller one slowly pulled away and started to chuckle when the captain cuddled close to hid his face in the other's chest.
"You know that I... I have no intentions in changing myself, right?" Kei said, stroking the other boy's hair softly. He felt that Ebato just nods quickly and moves away to be able to look at the taller one.
"I won't change either." The captain said gently, blushed again, realizing their closeness and moved few steps away.
"Then is it okay to keep on like this?" Okadome asked, looking at the boy's eyes, trying to find any sign of uncertainty and doubt. Mitsuteru nodded and fighting with embarrassment he hugged Kei again.
"Like this is fine..."
