Rohan - you are wrong. You took Friedan's comment out of context. As a second wave feminist, she made that comment because she thought that "sex-seeking" young women are detrimental to the movement --- they push back years of effort of women that have gotten jobs, are pushing for pay-equity and other forms of (second wave) equality. You should actually recognize similar arguments are today, as peoople argue consistently that the "britney spears" of the world are detrimental to the women.
You say you don't hate ... but you sure do post blog entries with some major anti-women bias. Conservatism and patriarchy are the two things that scare me most in this world.
I would think only the last two would constitute anti feminist comments. In reality all three constitute towards being taken out of context but I have heard the other two used to being used towards the feminist agenda. We must remember that first wave feminist had said that the mentally handicapped should be neutered. Yet we never hear those arguments being brought against people

oh wasnt the whole concept of the 60's was that women and men should have equal right regarding the right to be sex seeking. Also well I am thinking of this you know men had alot to do with the feminist movement weather it be on issues like civil rights and pro choice movments. Also There was no right or worng for me i was jsut presenting a quote.
a) actually all three quotes are brutal (from the perspective of a contemporary third/fourth wave feminst) - especially the first one --- women don't have the same mental faculties as men? WTF
