Our stereo have been cutting in and out since Os added 2 speakers in the kitchen. He has rewired it several times, and it still cuts out. A bit of pain in the arse. I noticed this morning it wasn't cutting off till I stepped into the kitchen. I asked him why. "It only cuts out when you move around"... Aerials are such low-tech devices that, in the modern world of everything that opens-and-shuts (preferably by remote-control), nobody even thinks about them.

There was an article in Drive (The Age) the other week about how car radios have got worse instead of better - they used to be made specifically for Australian conditions, but costs and local manufacturers closing down means that they no longer are. The fundamental theory is that no one listens to (AM) radio any more, even when they're driving.

Radio is a lost art.

In my case television is a lost art. I can't get any fucking reception, espeiclaly not in my neighbourhood where everyone else has a roof antenna.
