The thing you say about gas-fracking... I've learnt a bit about Appalachia through shinysparks. :-( It's horrible. It's worrisome. It will affect things.

Yes, it is VERY worrisome. What's really worrisome as well is what no one is talking about - that there are 2 GE-built (same as Fukishima) nuclear reactors only 10 miles from the epicenter, built to withstand 5.9-6.1. While they may have withstood the quake, what about structural weakening considering Hurricane Irene was coming? Considering that their containment is designed to protect THE REACTOR from the elements, but is essentially cement, and not a containment field to protect humans? Hmmmm...And so it goes..... Positive thoughts for all in the area ( ... )
