Trivia about me answers, with copious links to my other journal

(You can still take the quiz before reading the answers: here.)

1. I've skied in Wyoming, New Mexico, and Montana, but not Arizona. I have been to Arizona, and there is skiing there (near Flagstaff, maybe other places), but my being there and my skiing have not overlapped.

2. I've done needlepoint, and of course knitting and quilting. As far as scrapbooking, I have bought supplies, but have yet to actually use any of them to make an actual scrapbook or even a single page for one.

3. I have one brother, younger than I am. Mr. Karen's the one with sisters, two of them, both older than he is.

4. I was born and raised in Illinois. (As mentioned in my really needs to be updated About Me page.)

5. I started my online journal in part so I could go to JournalCon in San Francisco in 2002. I sometimes wish I'd started a year earlier so I could have gone to Chicago; it sounds like it was a lot of fun.

6. My favorite color is purple. I really wanted purple car and perhaps some day I'll have one.

7. I have indeed sniffed yarn. I can stop anytime I want.

8. I have been to Canada (lots of times; it's close by--I could leave now and be there in about an hour if there's no line at the border crossing) and Japan and France. I have not been to Scotland, though we might go this fall with Mr.'s parents, to visit the village which has their family name (or which their family has the name of). I obviously do not talk about visiting France enough, since even people who know me pretty well answered this question wrong. So, look here's me in Paris. (Gotta love those photos of photos. Perhaps one day I will get a proper scanner.)

9. I have made a Strips That Sizzle quilt, and watercolor/colorwash ones (I just brought two little ones in to hang in my office, which has got me thinking that I should really do an entry about all of them one of these days), and one in applique. I have not ventured into Stack & Whack territory, probably because that technique doesn't really lend itself to using a lot of fabrics in a single quilt and I generally want to stuff many fabrics into each project.

10--My nano is green. I considered silver, because it goes with most everything, and black, ditto, and pink and blue because they're close to purple, but went with the green. The green is fun and easy to spot when I set the nano down somewhere. The red wasn't an option when I got mine; I think I might have chosen that if it had been.
