I think I am becoming more compassionate as I get older; I didn't feel any particular glee when the big game ended yesterday and Michigan lost. I actually felt a little sorry for the Wolverine players; they tried so hard and came so close and the BCS may penalize them more than they deserve for only having one loss by three points on the road ( Read more... )

The big news around here all week has been the Michigan-Ohio State game. And then Bo Schembechler up and died yesterday, which has just added to the drama. As a Michigan State graduate, I have not been among the excited and am not today in mourning. I just found the best idea for what do to with the camera I broke: put it outside and wait for a squirrel to investigate and then take a picture like this person does.

I went out at lunch and bought a space heater for my office, something that's been on my list just short of forever. I did no research ahead of time but instead just looked at a few of the boxes at Meijer and picked one. The dog bite I wrote about yesterday over there is worse today; the whole back of my hand is puffy and red and warm to the touch and my index finger is bigger than ever. I'm going to the doctor this afternoon to see about getting some antibiotics.

On the plus side, I am getting pretty good at 9-finger typing.
