Hey!

I originally discovered you through the Bleach/Incarnate fiasco, but I have to say that reading this essay of yours...made me want to pick up Bleach again. I stopped reading once Orihime got kidnapped, because I was afraid that the lively, intelligent writing and awesome characterization was starting to die out as the manga went on. (Mostly because Orihime was my favorite character, and her getting kidnapped as a damsel in distress made no sense to me...? She really wasn't a damsel in distress IMO.)

Reading your essay made me think "OH MAN I am missing out on a lot! Also, this karenai person seems really awesome!"

So...um...thanks for turning me back onto Bleach, and may I friend you?

Hello! Leaving a message here just to say how much I enjoyed your analysis. I don't ship anymore (too intense for me), so whatever becomes canon really doesn't matter to me, but the character analyses in your essay were very interesting to read, nonetheless! When HM was running, I was really frustrated with it, but now that it's wrapped up and I've read some character analyses, I've strangely made peace with it. While I'm sure I won't be going back to read those chapters anytime soon, it's always refreshing to have an issue other than power levels for my brain to puzzle around with.

Anyways, the reason why I am posting this here (as opposed to in bleachness) is because I noticed that you are a Cal alum!

Yeah, I am not and never really will be a power-level kind of fangirl, not when character issues are so much more interesting to talk about. Glad you enjoyed the essay -- I'm happy to have helped you come to some peace with the universally frustrating issues of the lust arc. I wrote it after graduating Cal - the lust arc wrapped up just before my last set of finals.

and Go Bears! (Even when we kinda suck at football!) Gosh, I miss Cal a lot, and oddly enough, that sandwich shop on Center & Shattuck... anyway, thanks for leaving a comment, glad to talk to another Bleach fan from my school :3
