Madoka questions post

Mar 15, 2011 15:23

Now that I've harassed some of my friends into watching this series after in turn being harassed by Sea and Q (so many Madoka converters out there), cut for things I'm curious about in this series. SPOILERS FOR 1-10. These are just my rambling thoughts - it's so much fun to SPECULATE, damn.

Can I say I'm with you on the CCS love? And that Madoka made me REWATCH it for the nth time, just to feel better ;w;?

LOL. I can see how that would be healthy -- I miss Sakura a lot. And she and Syaoran were awesome~

Umm...you guys are the worst, now I'm like totally in love with this anime!!! And I blame you!!!! Lol
Anyways my favorite is Mami and I was totally like wtf when she died. Did not see that coming.

Did Madoka talk about her wish at all? I guess I would have to rewatch but I don't remember her mentioning her wish

Hah, you're correct, Madoka did not talk about her wish at all. I'm just curious about it because as you already know, Madoka's wish is essentially just to BE a magical girl, not anything other than that, so I want to know what she wished for in the end. :3

Oh yeah Homura is gonna die. QB isn't. I'm not sure I want him to--even though legions of people desire a horrible death for him. There have to be others like him on his home planet and there is no end to his sort of evil. It seems to me that there is some other karmic justice for him--and his evil is so dully pink-eyed. There is never ridding the universe of evil in any magical girl show, even if villains get their due and I'm not sure ( ... )

QB isn't going to die but I wish he would. I know that he's a kind of bland evil in the end, but... I HATE HIM SO. Urgh he's gross. But you're right that there's no ridding the universe of evil. It's funny, you know the climax of Sailor Moon is her trying to destroy the source of all evil only to find out that that is where all the stars and planets are born, too, so she can't. QB does kind of remind me of that -___-

Mami is great, in the end. I like her a lot and when she shot Kyoko, I was pretty impressed with the depth of her character. I just pathologically love girls like Homura - nothing gets me like female characters like her who just.keep.going. They're like a combination of the Terminator and the Energizer bunny -- I can't get enough of that broken heart combined with the crazy drive.

Haha maybe I will write the one on magical girls. It would be short -- just a quick thing about mirrors in the two series. Hmmm.

Oh and those people can fuck off. Pissy because people love something they don't, blah blah blah.

I was actually thinking of writing up a Madoka discussion entry. Thanks for doing it for me. ;)

So I wasn't just "seeing things" when I thought Madoka had similarities to Sakura? I LOVED Sakura and now I have decided to watch CCS. :D

Episode 10 is love. I fell in love with both Madoka and Homura.

I'll write more later, but I have places to go now. XD

Yeah, I think there are definitely a lot of deliberate similarities between Madoka and CCS. The shoes! the font! The hair! The attitude! (at least, iteration 1 Madoka - iteration 5 bears zero resemblance.)

I went and watched this because there was such a hassle over this series. It was kinda girly :D Like NGE for girls - where NGE had huge robots and naked chicks, this one had magical action girls and uh, artistic violin boy I guess ? (not to mention that cutesy creepy pokemon look-a-like who apparently was the devil himself)

Nonetheless kinda nice. Dunno why fanboys don't get Sayaka's character - this fanboy thought she was complex but understandable, considering that this fanboy understood her at all. It makes me kinda worried though when you say she's too much like you.

Hahaha I think most people, female or male, know what it's like to do something for someone ostensibly because it's the right thing to do, but secretly wanting them to like you for it. It's the passive-aggressive way of trying to buy someone's love, and man, is that the teenager way. Some people try to keep that up, unfortunately, and in Sayaka's case, it bore consequences REALLY FAST. That's what reminds me of myself in her - something like that. Most of us don't get punished that hard.

I thought that in this case Sayaka may had honestly wanted to heal the violin boy without getting a thank for it, and she submitted herself to a noble cause, but it was when everything started to get even more rough when she started to do Harley Dents' and break apart. It's like, she did stand there happy without being thanked, and she did stand for her ideas to be just, but then she started to have to pay even a bigger toll for them, witnessing that she was turned into that egg, having to witness her best friend take her object of love away etc, which made her feel like it became more and more unjust for her. Then again, her self-destructiveness seemed like she wanted to hurt herself to have a revenge on someone, like saying "LOOK I DID THE RIGHT THING AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED".
