The first question is - what is your budget for this?
Second question, is do you want me to come out one day with my gardening books and ideas?

You know hadn't really thought of a budget...but it'll be minimal. We are also in the process getting quotes for the driveway/varandah so most of the money will probably go towards that. It will mean an extra $10,000 on the sale price for a driveway so we thought that would be a good thing ;o)
We have narrowed it down to those spikey, leafy, grassy plants...cordyline, stuff like that and a path from the front door to the letter box...maybe we could get together one arvo and look at some books, thanks for the offer :oD

I am happy to come out during a school day and help with the garden. Best time to plant is autumn but you could do a little now. Best plants to use are low maintance , like Australian natives which would be good seeing your near lots of trees etc.

Thanks for the offer, we'll see how it goes ;o) We first have to dig up the front garden but not sure if we have to just get rid of the top layer and ditch all the weeds and stuff....as for the natives, yep, we have looked at drought tolerant, low maintence etc really just ant to tidy it up and put down lots of bark, mulch...we want to get rid of the lawn completely!!! It never got mown anyway, only when Michael's parents got sick of looking at it ;o))))
