Last night I went out with my friends Hannah, Luisa, and Darlene to watch a movie called "Born into Brothels." It's about nine children living in the Red Light District in Calcutta, India, and how one western women comes into their lives and tries to help them break out of the environment and enter into education and normalcy.

As for development/positive change... I know that some people in the third world think that all 'development' is bad and a form of exploitation. While I do agree that quite a bit of development takes that form, I still think that development from the outside has potential. However, any outside development agencies need to work directly with the people and local grassroots organizations.

a wise man once told me that, technically, "nigger" was the white man's word first. then black people stole it from the white man.

I want to steal words, too. I bet stealing words are as easy as stealing pods. THE PODS! God have mercy. ::sobs::
