A technical question

I just got an ipod touch, and I'm wondering how best to protect it. I had a rubber skin with a hard plastic screen protector for my previous ipod and it worked beautifully. I could just throw it in my backpack and go, and not worry about my keys or pens or whatever scratching it up. I got a similar rubber skin for my ipod touch, but for obvious ( Read more... )

I do not own anything like this. However, I've seen that Peter has a soft cloth bag for his iPhone, and at least two of my coworkers in Northampton had knit themselves tight-fitting pouches that their iPhone fit into. This one is actually woven, but you get the idea.

I'm sure it'd be easy to buy something.

I don't have an i-anything, but I do have a touch-screen phone and I find that the protective film for the front works just fine. I actually bought them in a packet of 5, but have yet to remove the first one I put on over a year ago. I think that and the rubber sleeve will be all right for you.

I have had the same experience re: protective film. I've had my i-phone for almost two years now, and am still on the same sheet, and no scratches to speak of. I would, however, recommend a hardshell, rather than a rubber sleeve. I had a rubber sleeve, but it got stretched out in about a year to the point that it would fall out of the sleeve in my bag.

I have an itouch and I actually have one of those oakley microfiber pouches that you get for protecting sunglasses. I think it was $8
it's here if you're curious:

You can probably get one similar in any sunglass store. I just throw mine in the pouch before it goes in my purse

I don't encase my iPhone in anything. The back is a little scratched up, but the glass is fine. I've had it over a year.

I do tend to keep it in a pocket where I only have soft/round objects (not keys). If you're mixing sharp metal and expensive technology, you may want to ignore me.
