Janelle Monae is fucking amazing. It is so incredibly refreshing to see a female R&B singer who is so self-assured and self-aware. Who is standing out because of her talent and creativity, rather than her sex appeal.

I love Janelle Monae! Although more for her style/persona/videos than her music - I like her music but it's not my favorite.

I think her music works a lot better in an album context - I wasn't that blown away by Many Moons the first time I heard it, but when I listened to as part of Metropolis: the Chase Suite, I could appreciate it a lot more.

Good stuff. I'm going to pass this on to Marc because he loves this kind of music. I recently recommended Madcon to him - though I'm not familiar enough with their music to say how their message is but it's good music.
