mmm neutron stars are fun. theyre the size of a city and rotate up to 600 times a second! Theyre the 1.4 to 3 solar mass core of a star that went supernova. they have a magnetic field one trillion times stronger than our sun's. when the poles of the magnetic field pass our point of view we see an increase in luminosity (among other forms of radiation), and we call these pulsars (not to be confused with variable stars). young pulsars rotate extremely fast but the rate of spin is decreaing quickly. older pulsars spin slower and theyre rate of spin is decreasing slower. One teaspoon of a neutron star has the mass of a mountain.
and neutron stars arent actually stars, theyre dead. they are no longer burning hydrogen. they are just a ball of neutrons.

p.s. if you were a star then you would have an extremely difficult life.
For instance...
You would have to go on soooo many talk shows, mostly ones like Montel, and tell the tragic story of your existance as a star. AND people like me would totally make fun of you and call you sunny girl which would like make you cry yourself to sleep at night...
