Delayed reaction post: Day of the Doctor

I guess I should stick this all behind LJ - cut? I mean, has anyone who cares really not seen this yet? But to be safe…

My thoughts under here... )

I've been waiting with bated breath for your reaction post. I loved most of the special and I loved the intention to try and heal the Doctor as best they could. Just the possibility that it could be undone made me sob and sob (maybe I'm just hormonal). Just seeing David Tennant and Billie Piper in the credits made me cry! All in all I was just so relieved to be excited about DW again. The Ponds stories were so distracting and confusing that I lost the fire... I hadn't even watched the second half of S7 until this weekend! So I love being in love with the Doctor again and I have hope for the future. (and I'm missing our friend Jamie liek woah!) *hugs*

But I didn't WANT it to be undone. Even though Nine and Ten don't remember what happened, basically they suffered for years for NOTHING. And that really hurts my heart.

It was like Halloween candy. Temporarily fun, but afterward made me sick to my stomach. All except Four, which made me cry like an idiot. The only earned emotional tic of the piece.

God, if they had actually all pressed that button together, that would have been fucking PERFECT. You'd hear me singing the Moff's praises. Seriously. But no, had to go all flash, stick in every Doctor. Erg. I mean, how can you change THAT? The one thing that makes the Doctor who he is now. And Eleven was moving past it on his own (which was IN the story already).

Tbh, I don't even like the adding in another Doctor, but I can forgive, because John Hurt.

EXACTLY!!!!!!! It was bloody volcano day. And this time, they would have made the choice with more knowledge, with a little less self-loathing, and they could finally grow the frak up. Stupid stupid stupid Moffat. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

John Hurt was lovely, but I still feel like Paul was pissed upon.

you're braver than me, I chose not to even do a reaction post once my net connection came back, as I knew I'd only end up pointing out everything that was wrong with it and going off a horrible rant, and forget all the fun bits, lol

"I mean if Gallifrey is all locked, aren't they perpetually all locked in a war? With Daleks? So all those children don't die but are suffering, or running in fear...forever? And what about the Final Sanction, Rassilon, the Master, what happens to all of them? What about the Master's sacrifice in The End of Time?"

This, most definitely, is my biggest annoyance, because in TEoT it was made pretty clear that the reason the Doctor finally ended the Time War was because the Time Lords had become as bad as the Daleks and would have destroyed the universe themselves if not stopped.

I simply can't get my head around how the two eps can co-exist

*sigh*
