VAST improvement. Still issues.
What I didn't love about the first episode is still very much a problem for me, but I enjoyed this episode quite a bit more than the first. It's still entirely too predictable. And the tension comes from assuming it won't be and waiting for it to happen. I still don't buy Beth's behavior even a little bit and I nearly laughed at her waters breaking at that moment. And of COURSE he'd run off with Claire. Almost eyerolly.
But I loved the quiet, genuine character moments. The attorney being ambushed and the hand on her shoulder after. Claire and Ellie eating chips and talking about their husbands. "I could kiss you, Miller." When whatshisface checks if Claire is wearing a wire. Those moments were wonderful.
I wasn't as annoyed while watching. I almost wasn't at all. I enjoyed it very much, and was appropriately at the edge of my seat, I guess. Because the performances are so, so good. I just want to have a chat with Chibbers about the PLOT.
