I filled my car with stuff today and still have a bit more to go. I think the trailer is going to be a bit more filled than I was planning, but still under the 1400Lb tow capacity of my car

You can always find a town to stop and rent a locking garage. Some hotels offer this service, or you can just find a local 24 hour storage place that you can park it in if you want to be extra safe. The sleep will be much needed.

I have never had anything taken off my trailer,,,,even at motels over nite. BUT I do bring in my fursuit bins over nite,,,because those are kinda irreplaceable. There is a haunted motel south of Atlanta,,,,you should stay there!
