and sewing knitting is cheaper than a psychiatrist* I'm learning to knit. A kind, patient soul from church is teaching me :) My interest was sparked when a friend started informal lessons so she could knit for the textile element of her college course and I thought I'd join in ( Read more... )

Knitting is great!
I started about a year and a half ago and so far I've knitted 2 jumpers, a long cardigan and a kind of wraparound cardi.
It's something to keep your hands busy with - and much more enjoyable than therapy! (I know what I'm talking about!)
It's really good to do while listening to a sermon, helps to concentrate the mind. Although you need to have a pattern you don't need to think about too much...

keep up with the knitting!
I started just around Christmas....(as opposed to watching telly with the family..)...I have knitted 3 scarfs and I am just beginning my fourth :)

'twill stand you in good stead for (much) later on Karen. :)
Some folks in a nursing home here knitted a whole room complete with bookshelves & books, afternoon tea on the table, a mantel radio and much more. Truly!
