How annoying with the cars. x_x At least you guys don't need to go anywhere at the moment.
CHOCOLATE. *ahem*
That's a rather spiffy opportunity. :3 No pay would be annoying, but, it would look fabulous on your resume if he used the logo commercially. And you don't need to tell anyone on your resume that you weren't paid.
Took me four hours because I had no help. And our food processor has a personal vendetta against me. Hopefully the last batch of chocolate-y goodness will go faster.
Yeah it really is. *shifty look* I just need this logo to look amazing. Hopefully he's someone easy to work with.
D: I want truffles! I'm jealous of your candy-making skillz.
I kind of think you should insist on pay. I mean. You went to art school and everything, you should get /some/ compensation. Just because he's a friend of your niece (whom you never seem quite fond of anyway) he shouldn't be getting free arts out of the deal. I'm a friend of /you/, and I don't expect free arts.
This is a service he could be going somewhere else and being charged hundreds of dollars for. You can't expect to be compensated by the potential of having your name dropped here and there. And you don't know if it'll be a "Yeah, my friend's aunt did it for me for free" kind of drop, either. Sure, it may look nice on a resume, but.... really? At least insist on fifty bucks for this. It's a pittance compared to what it would cost if he went to a design firm, and enough for you to put pride in your work and not feel taken advantage of and for him to feel like you respect your work enough to charge money for it.
The thing is... I did get my degree but technically I didn't get my degree in graphic design. And right now I'm still on the fence of the idea. I need to email him and ask him several questions. Payment being one of them.
Of course this requires me getting off my ass and emailing him.... *mildly tempted not to*
I'd send you some if there wasn't the big issue of melting. Snail Mail is filled with quite a bit of fail and I've never successfully sent food stuffs even if I pack it like it's a giant piece of china.
We'll see how well it goes. I sent him an email, so now the ball is in his court.
Just running around PA and going to Baltimore for a few days <3.

I hate all food processors. Kudos to you for using one.
Also, yay! Logo design! Even if you can't get paid, I think it would be good experience if you have the extra time.
Also, wait, vacation? Anywhere good?
