Right, scorpionchild and extinctfables are down for the weekend and coming along, I sooooooo plan to be there, as does sexygoldfish_uk. Who else is up for coming, and do you want to meet up in the Hobgoblin beforehand or the Rising Sun (where I think a few other people are planning to meet beforehand

Plus, if anyone can tell me how to do the thing that makes people's lj names come up as links then I will edit this accordingly (I haven't got a clue!)

When you write your LJ entry initially, you need to be in RICH TEXT mode (see the bottom of the screen, under the text box) That will bring you up a whole row of icons to play with within your writings. If you select the icon that looks like a little person, that brings you up a screen where you can type in the LJ username. Click OK and it will post the link into your text. (you sometimes have to move the little linky thing so that it lines up in your actual text)

I am just a simple little user of the LJ phenomenon... I only know how *I* do things, not all this namby pamby, high falootin COMPUTER GEEK STUFF!!!!!

But it's a shame if you can't come up at the weekend. We would have loved to see you again... we shall dance and drink in your honour :o)

Nothin geeky about learning a few simple tags. Now, coding entire websites from scratch in a text editor just to prove you can, that's geeky. Using a tag on a forum is just normal behaviour for smart people. ;-)

I can help with the tags thing though, if the rich text mode thing doesn't work for you.

Simply type 'lj user="the username here"' inside the arrow brackets '<>'

Cool, just had an email from Angel and she will be joining us as well, we just need to decide which pub we are meeting in so that I can let her know where to find us!

If you are interested, it is this Saturday in Reading, costs about £3.50 to get in, music is a mix of rock, goth, industrial etc split over three rooms with Rex, Gwilym and others (don't lynch me - I don't know everyone elses names!) Dj-ing, and we will probably be meeting about 8pm at a suitable pub before heading over. Night runs from about 9.30pm til 2am. I'm sure I can find you a suitable shadowy patch of floor if you can make it, and it will be great to see you - providing no one else has any objections :)
