Amazing the files you find when you go hunting for other stuff. I found Stone01.doc today. It was a short story I did up back when at Red Square and invited to a writing circle. Some of those blokes may remember it. I liked the character so I figured I'd store it here lest I lose the file (again).

“and so there I was, the circle all chalked out and ( Read more... )

Ah Red Square.

Not bitter at all. It has been over 10 years since I played there. The role-play was never that great. I found other that where better, some that could not even role-play at all. All in all I would have given it a C average.

You should check it out again. I think there might be 3-5 people there that were there that long ago. I know I'm not one of them as I started in August of 2001.

We have so many new faces that the 'face' of role-play has completely changed at least 4 times in the years I've been there.

As I wasn't there when you gave the "C" grade, I don't know what it was like, but it's certainly worth checking out to regrade, even if that means the grade gets lower.

Red Square, known by a variety of names depending upon the era, is a troupe game that takes place in or under (depending on time of year) Red Square on University of Washington Campus. My first vampire larp. It was full of its good times and its bad times.

While there, Krys started a writing circle, and I was invited to join. I forget the name but it included people like Shadow, Janet, and Luke (all names that mean nothing to a bunch of people). It was for short stories and collaborative stories. A fun thing. If I recall the most popular thread was effectively free form D&D.

In any case, this was one of two pieces I worked up. This was just a stand alone piece. The other was clearly the start for an OWoD Dark Ages story, which if I recall promptly took a left turn as soon as another author pounced on it.

Don't know Luke, but I know every other name mentioned. ;-)

Thanks, BJ. Wasn't around for when this happened, but I recall enough good times RP'ing with you that I can easily get into this story. Good read.
