01 - "Suki. Dakara Suki"
Asahi Hinata is the daughter of a very rich man. Her mother died due to an illness when she was a fifth grade in elementary school but, before dying, she left her two Teddy Bears, Waka and Tono.
Due to her money Asahi Hinata is kidnapped often (9 times) but, due to her kind, innocent personality and since her father always paid the ransom, she always manage to return back perfectly fine.
When she realizes her father was holding guilty of her misadventures the servants in her house she decided to go living on her own in another city so no one would be troubled by her. Shinohara Tōko, her childhood best friend, followed her.
During her first year of high school her chemistry teacher, Maeda, is substituted by her new neighbour, Asō Shirō, who in reality is a bodyguard hired by her father to protect her.
Hinata is immediately charmed by him, because he does a lot of things she loves, so she decides to get to know him better. Instead Shinohara Tōko and Kishitani Emi, her other schoolmate, worry about her. Expecially Shinohara Tōko who believes their new teacher to be a bad person.
Hanging around Asō Shirō, Asahi Hinata ends up knowing Namiya Tomoaki, Asō Shirō's friend and writer of the illustration books she loves.
In the meantime strange things start to happen around her house.
Silent phonecalls, someone walking in her garden, people entering in her house... but she doesn't pay attention to it, as caught up as she is in her love for her teacher, at whom she declares.
Asō Shirō, who worries instead, doesn't want to return her feelings because once upon a time he had a client who fell for him and that, later, ended up hurt in an attempt to protect him.
One evening, while he's accompaining Asahi Hinata at home, a car is about to hit them and then she starts to follow them. The two escape but, when Asahi Hinata realizes the ones in the car want her she goes back.
Asō Shirō reaches her and tells her not to escape from him but, right then, Kishitani Emi reaches them and, with a stun gun, causes Asō Shirō to faint then asks Asahi Hinata to go with her and the ones in the car.
Asahi Hinata and Asō Shirō are carried away. When Asō Shirō wakes up the two of them are reached again by Kishitani Emi who explains them this is a kidnapping.
Her father has debts with some Yakuza debt collectors and now they want to use Asahi Hinata to get a ransom to pay the debts.
Kishitani Emi reveals to Asahi Hinata that Asō Shirō is a bodyguard, that's why he was kidnapped too, then left.
Asō Shirō tells Hinata all those coincidences she loves to much were programmed so he could do his work.
Asō Shirō then broke his thumb to free himself more easily so he could escape with Asahi Hinata and Kishitani Emi. Kizu Masaya, Namiya Tomoaki's bodyguard and Asō Shirō's ex-coworker comes to help them so they manage to escape.
Asahi Hinata, crying, asks Asō Shirō if he did all those things she loved merely due to his work. Before he could reply she admits she misunderstood him and thanks him for helping her.
The day after Kishitani Emi apologizes and Asahi Hinata forgives her. Asahi Hinata had asked her father not to inform the police and to lend some money to Kishitani Emi's father so to solve her problems.
Shinohara Tōko and Asahi Hinata talk about Asō Shirō. Asahi Hinata knows he did all he did due to his work... but she can't avoid crying.
Once returned in class the two girls discovers Maeda Sensei, the teacher Asō Shirō was replacing, is back and that Asō Shirō isn't their teacher anymore.
Later Asahi Hinata meets Namiya Tomoaki, who apologizes for having kept hidden the truth about Asō Shirō and explain her that Kizu Masaya was Asō Shirō ex-coworker and now is Namiya Tomoaki's bodyguard since he too had been kidnapped but, differently from Asahi Hinata, he hadn't been treaten kindly.
He also explain her that, even if Asō Shirō protected her due to his work, he cared for her more than if she were just a client. He tells her about how Asō Shirō, in the past, fell in love for a diplomatical woman he had to protect and how she ended up hurt in an attempt to protect him. He then gives her his last book as a present.
Asahi Hinata talks with Shinohara Tōko, who explains her why Asō Shirō reminded her so much of her previous kidnappings. Asō Shirō looked at her the same way a policeman would.
Asahi Hinata reminds that in Namiya Tomoaki's book is said eyes never lies and that Asō Shirō looked at her in a kinder way than a policeman.
She decides to talk with Asō Shirō but, when she goes to his house, he finds it empty.
Encouraged by Shinohara Tōko she goes to Namiya Tomoaki and asks him where Asō Shirō could be. He says he's about to leave the city and she runs to the station.
Asō Shirō, in the meantime, is talking with Kizu Masaya, who's trying to have him admit his feelings. Before Asō Shirō could reply Asahi Hinata reaches them.
Hinata admits she fell in love for Asō Shirō due to what he did... but that she noticed his eyes were always kind when he was looking at her so, from now on, she wants to love him for what he'll do for himself and that's why he loves him.
Asō Shirō says Asahi Hinata won. She doesn't understand what he means so he wispers it in her ear, too embarassed to say it out loud.
Hinata is happy. Asō Shirō realizes he's about to miss the Shinkansen so he left her his phone number before running away to take the train.
