Oh, yeah, it's been closed for a while now. I posted all the HP fic on AO3 under that name. (Is HP where I know you from? I lost track of who joined my flist for which fandom after a while. *sheepish* Generally the answer is HP but not always!) Anyway, if you're looking for it, it's there.
Hah, no I never did write a rec for that fic, although I remember reading the, like, 90,000 recs for it when it came out! HP was the BEST fandom for reccing. I miss it so. That's why I try to remember to rec, but I'm not very good at it, honestly. I don't do it enough and I also don't write the kind of recs that make people want to read fic, I think. I tend to go on about how it made me feel, rather than about what's interesting in the fic.
I do almost all my reading at AO3 these days, prlly about 90%. Most Avengers fic is over there, and that's mostly what I read so that helps a lot. For an experiment, I posted the fic I put up last week to AO3 only, rather than sticking it in my journal. It was too long to go here anyway. So much easier to post over there, in addition to reading!
I might have gotten a bit carried away with this rec, but it deserves every bit of gushing. *g*
Oh yes, you must! On the surface, it's the same Steve/Tony fic that's already been done dozens or hundreds of times already, but it comes at you from an angle, a different slant - it's really marvellous and very subtle about it, that particular thing.
It doesn't seem adequate to say this is a lovely rec and thank you doesn't seem enough, but nevertheless thank you for this lovely rec!
Thank you for sticking with this story when you weren't quite sure about it at the start and for coming back to it when you had to take some time away. I'm glad that you ended up enjoying it in the end.
This is my first Steve/Tony fic so my idea was to take every Steve/Tony trope that I personally enjoyed and to streamline it into one story with my own spin on things, to kind of get them all out of my system in one go. I was worried that it wouldn't work and that folks would find it all to be mightily redundant, so I'm relieved that you didn't find it to be simply more of the same.
There's no greater compliment for a writer than for readers to say that they became emotionally involved and felt transported by a story. I'm honored that you became invested and I thank you again for your kind and thoughtful comments on this fic. I appreciate it more than I can properly express!
Oh, the fic was brilliant. I was entranced. You handled the tropes magnificently. Hah, but I hope you didn't get it all out of your system in one go because I want you to write more so I can fangirl it dreadfully. I think I have another of your fic open in a tab to read when I get a moment. As for the rec, well, I know many people have already read it and I don't have a large flist, but if I could interest even one more person in seeing this work, job done! Also, sometimes you just have to squee over something this good. *g*
