What would happen if you just went and got a new one? Exactly like the one you have? I am ignorant when it comes to HOAs...so, talk to me like I am 4 :)

If they didn't notice, nothing. If they did notice, we get a fine. Something like $100.

We live kind of on a corner, so I worry that they would notice a new one. But we might just go ahead and do that anyway. I have no idea.

How imperative is it to your inspections? If it is really important, I'd just do it as long as the fine is $100 or less. With the kind of folks it seems that your HOA people are, I don't them kicking it into gear so that you can get a new one in time through the proper channels.

It's necessary for our inspections. Right now we are keeping our paint and stuff in the garage. Unfortunately, our water heater and dryer are also in the garage, and it's against the fire code to have paint and other cumbustibles in the same place as a water heater and dryer. Our current storage shed is leaning over to the side and has such big holes in it (from wood rot) that the dogs can go in and out through the walls. We're tearing it down next weekend.

When I call Monday, I'm going to ask about the fine for sure and about how quickly they can get things done. I'm sure if it's just one guy I have to talk to, I can work something out. But if I need board approval, that might take forever and I might just go ahead and buy a new shed.

I agree....if you can afford the fine, just do it. It's more important to pass your inspection.:)
