Oh, yea. Thing is, they didn't notify it beforehand, and many students (like I, I'm ashamed to say) clicked the "renew" button without realizing of the increase. After all, with no prior notification, I thought it would remain the same coverage.
Lucky for us some DID notice, and raised hell. Enough that the university approved a rider of about $80, only $50 paid directly by the students.
Foreign students at UGA? Unless married to a postdoc, faculty, or someone else with another insurance, they're required to have the graduate student insurance. Graduate students, same boat. It is a good insurance, in general, but that deductible was... erm... excessive.
