And I found out through Facebook. Well, duh, most of my friends over there are my high school friends. It is still amusing that I learn news related in any way to my island via FB before any other place. Sometimes it is not even in English media

Heh... well, he publicly came out, which was the news. I don't think it surprised that many, though.

I found out he publicly said he was gay through FB would've been a better way.

I also think for most people he has been out for a decade. ;) Hence no shock.

Yeah, my surprise wasn't about him not being popular, it was about this being "breaking news".
