Not quite, what I mean is more that I'm 27 and I've got another four years before I finish my BSc. So I'll have my Bachelor's at age 31, and then I might well go find a PhD scholarship somewhere. So I'll be 34, 35 and just out of university whereas all the other little bastards who went to uni right out of school will have their degrees and already be established and I'll be ten years behind them.

That's what's nagging at me. I mean, yeah, I have advantages in experience and wisdom and that's clearly helping me to do well, and I know it's irrational and really just wrong but I just have this annoying nagging anxiety that maybe I should have done this already.

Consider this then. A sizable portion of these 'right out of school' types either find they don't enjoy the real world version of the job they have been studying all this time for and move on to something totally different, or what they have been studying is completely useless in the work place. In both cases, all they are left with is some nice resume filler and few certificates they can hang on the wall to impress the dates they bring home.

You don't have that problem because you have been in the workforce for long enough to know what you want to do and which courses will be of benefit to you. Which means the next eight or so years you spend studying won‘t be for nothing.

Yeah, I know all that.

That's the thing - I know that this is irrational. I know it's basically wrong and that I've got a bunch of advantages and everything. That's what irks me; that I still can't shake this silly notion, despite being aware of exactly how silly it is.

Well if it makes you feel any better, I think that you're ugly and fat and stupid.

Also, you smell bad.

I have a feeling that some of your doubts may come from having to spend so much time around 19-year-olds. That shit can be tough.

That does do bad things to the brain. After a while you start ending every sentence with a question mark? For no reason?
