I kind of hate the name, too. Pawl's new band should make me happy but it really, really doesn't.

I'm not sure! I think it's just a reminder that it's all over, y'know? I'll get over this in time though.

Ah yeah. But the biggest reminder is Joe, so I've accepted it... As much as it's possible to. Hope the music is OK though, that's what I'm most afraid of.

Niel Gaiman said comics are gutter art, meaning that they're cool - like gutter poets!

Honestly, I couldn't think of a better band for Pawl to join. The Gorillaz don't restrict themselves to any style and are one of the most 'forward thinking' bands out there, experimenting with loads of styles. They have a great message too - and The Clash were always about moving ahead, so it's a perfect match.

Plus, the whole Spaghetti Western references must appeal to him!

Well, that's my opinion anyway. Then again, I haven't heard any of it yet, so....

That's why I'm looking forward to hearing it. I'm not gonna say anything about it in advance, just sit back and enjoy being clueless for once.
I wanna see a spaghetti western. Why are they called that?

the spaghetti westerns filmed in Italian and dubbed into English are usually sort of amusing (like the old Godzilla movies).

useless trivia here:

they were called spaghetti westerns because the lot of them were produced by Italian studios.

i actually kind of like downloading bits of Ennio Morricone's spaghetti western soundtracks from the 1960s. the themes/finales are always sort of dramatic/bizarre, but i usually wind up really liking them in a weird way.

...I was gonna say they were long and twisty like spaghetti.

I haven't seen many, but they are pretty cool alright.

i don't like the name either, but i was pleased to find out that Mr. Simonon had returned to music...
i don't know that i'll be following it very much though. maybe turn an ear to it when a tune arises or something. anyway, i hope it's good.

comics were real fun for me when i was younger. i used to be into buying second-hand 1960s ones for some reason :\
