through some sidetracks and the twists and turns of livejournal, i wound up looking at alot of conservative journals tonight... just browsing. it really makes me sad to see so much hate, on both sides i know, but particularly on some journals i just saw

i definitly agree with everything you said here. and i was never protesting, or taking sides really. i just think it's sad for so much hate to be prevalent. thanks for your replies, they made me think :)

Perhaps I lean more to the conservative side (though I am for gay rights/marriage and against the death penalty), and I was a supporter of the war, but I did not have a problem with protestors' freedom of speech. The only problem I saw was the way the protesting was being done: holding up traffic and such. What about emergency vehicles getting through? What about my "freedom of movement"? If I had been caught up in a traffic snarl because a group of people didn't like the war, I would not be very happy at all, especially if en route to my job or a gig.

As far people calling an entire nation 'piece of shit cocksuckers who should all die', I never did that. In fact, most people who supported the war agreed that our war was not against the Iraqi people.
