I hate advertising. I dislike how they find ways to pick into society's collective brains and figure out how to make you want a product they're selling, or an image they're projecting, etc

It seems a little like Stockholm syndrome. You are fascinated by what you hate. The question is: what would you do with your degree in marketing? Would you be able to find a job that leaves you with a clear conscience at the end of (most of) your days? I wouldn't say your a hypocrite (for now), I would just call the situation ironic.
